Egbewole welcomes Unilorites back on campus

…appreciates students for keeping faith with varsity

As the Second Semester commenced in earnest last Monday (March 30, 2026), the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has welcomed the students back on campus, thanking them for keeping faith with the University.

In a short video clip sent to the students, which was seen by UNILORIN Bulletin, the Vice Chancellor said he hoped that the students used the last Semester break to rest very well.

Prof. Egbewole further expressed the conviction that the students were also able to use the holiday to bond effectively with their parents, guardians and siblings as well as other relations.

The Vice Chancellor, who is also the Chairman of the Consortium of Kwara Universities (KU8+), thanked the students for adhering strictly to the admonition he shared with them before the commencement of the First Semester examinations as he appealed to them to continue to exhibit positive values and maintain being good students throughout their various programmes.

A campus-wide tour by UNILORIN Bulletin last Wednesday (April 1, 2026) revealed that the campus had started bubbling again with different activities as many of the students had returned to their various academic programmes.

For instance, the new Motor Park has returned to its hustle and bustle as students and staff members were seen boarding vehicles to the office and academic areas of the University for the commencement of their daily activities.

While expressing gratitude to the authorities of the University for giving them the opportunity to go for a few weeks break, some of the students said that they were able to effectively utilise the period to relax and prepare for the Second Semester.

Some of the students also said that they have since started receiving lectures as they thanked the University management for the arrangement made to ensure that they enjoyed their sojourn on campus.
