
Egbewole hails Unilorites on Workers’ Day

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has acknowledged the commitment of staff of the institution to their duties.
Prof. Egbewole gave this commendation in a congratulatory message he sent to all staff of the University on the occasion of this year’s Workers’ Day, which was celebrated last Thursday (May 1, 2025).
The Vice Chancellor, who is also the Secretary-General of the Association of West African Universities (AWAU), described the event as a “significant day in the annals of Nigerian workers” as he saluted “the hardworking, resolute, reliable and ever responsible workforce of the University.”
Prof. Egbewole noted that the staff of the University “have worked assiduously to ensure the functionality of our University. You have in your various corners demonstrated your love and admiration for our University. You have by your doggedness ensured that our system works.”
The Vice Chancellor, who is the Chairman of the Consortium of Universities in Kwara State (KU+), commended the University workers for the efforts demonstrated towards the realisation of the vision of the University.
Prof. Egbewole appealed to the workers to continue to support the University and remain committed to the attainment of its goals, assuring them that their efforts will not be taken for granted.
