Egbewole greets Abdulmalik on re-election as IEDPU President
……hails Imam’s impactful tenure
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated a distinguished alumnus of the University, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, on his re-election as the National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU). He also congratulated a former Coordinator of the University’s Department of Architecture, Mr Uthman Moyo on his emergence as the Union’s new National Secretary.
Prof. Egbewole similiarly rejoiced with the Deputy Editor of UNILORIN Bulletin, Mr Abubakar Imam, on the successful completion of his tenure as the National Secretary of the Union..
In a statement signed by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor said that the management, staff and students of the University were not surprised with the re-election of Alhaji Abdulmalik, going by the exemplary style with which he led the Union in the last two years.
Prof. Egbewole recalled that the tenure of Alhaji Abdulmalik led to the improvement in the cordial relationship between the Union and the University.
He explained that Alhaji Abdulmalik, in the last two years, honoured countless invitations of the University to events as he said that the community leader made other deliberate efforts at sustaining the level of cordiality between the Union, and Ilorin Emirate community at large, and the University.
The Vice Chancellor similarly commended the immediate past National Secretary of the Union, Mr Abubakar Imam, for giving a good account of himself throughout his four- year tenure.
Prof. Egbewole described Mr Imam as a pride of the University who worked extensively for the Union in a way that did not negatively affect the discharge of his duties as a staff member of the University. He wished the former IEDPU Chief Scribe success in his future endeavours.
The Vice Chancellor further expressed delight that the new National Secretary of the Union, Mr Uthman Moyo, is also a staff member of the University.
He expressed the hope that Mr Uthman would also use his new position to promote the good relationship between the IEDPU and the University of Ilorin as done by his predecessors. He wished him a very succesful tenure.
