
Design campaigns with human face, Gbadeyan tells advertisers

In a continued display of corporate social responsibility and fraternal identification with the people of the University’s host community, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, was among several dignitaries, particularly staff of the nation’s most sought-after University, who attended the opening ceremony of the 59th edition of the annual national conference of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) and the sixth annual general meeting of the Ilorin Emirate Professors’ Association (IEPA).
The first event, which was presided-over by a former Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Shuaibu Oba AbdulRaheem, OFR, was held penultimate Wednesday (December 25, 2024) at the Forecourt of the Emir’s Palace, Ilorin, and attended by the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq,CON, while the second event, which was chaired by a former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Kwara State University, Malete, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Funso Alabi, took place the following day (December 26, 2027) at Rotana Hotel, Ilorin.
Speaking at the IEPA general meeting, Prof. Egbewole commended members of the Association on forming the body.
He also commended them on their contributions to the educational and general advancement of the University’s host community.
Prof. Egbewole, whose birthday coincided with the event, explained that every resident of Ilorin is duty bound to support the peace and progress of the community for it to attract more positive socioeconomic transformations.
The Vice Chancellor, who is also the Secretary-General of the Association of West African Universities (AWAU), assured members of the IEPA that he would continue to contribute his quotas to the development of the community.
