Eat moderately, Akanji advises all
By Abubakar Imam
An Emeritus Professor at the University of Ilorin, Musibau Adewunmi Akanji, has urged members of the human community to always eat moderately for them to enjoy sound health.
Prof. Akanji, who is a former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, gave this advice penultimate Friday (March 26, 2026) in his weekly exultation, a copy of which was sighted by UNILORIN Bulletin.
The renowned Biochemist explained that though human stomach is designed by the Almighty God to receive and process all manners of food, it is, however, clear that the less we eat the better for us.
Prof. Akanji, who also served as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, equally encouraged people to either run away from junk food or take less of it.
The former Vice Chancellor, who is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science, said that moderate consumption of all kinds of food and outright abandonment of junk ones would make the work of the stomach easier as those who abide by the advice will always feel much better and visit hospital less.
Prof. Akanji encouraged those who have more than enough to give their extra food to the less privileged, saying that by doing so, they would not only be earning the pleasure of the beneficiaries and God but also helping themselves in so many ways as they would receive more divine blessings.
