The Management of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), University of Ilorin, has been commended for ensuring the effective and efficient use of available equipment.

This commendation was made last Wednesday (February 26, 2025) by the Team Lead of the Management Service Health (MSH), Mr Kabiru Abdullahi, while presenting an equipment to the VTH at its premises in Sabo-Oke, Ilorin.

Mr Abdullahi, who was accompanied to the event by Dr Aisha Bagudu and Mr Sule Michael Ohiza, said that he was impressed by the conditions of the equipment previously donated by his organisation to the VTH.

The Team Lead said that it was important for the beneficiaries to always keep donated materials in good shape, pointing out that doing so would elicit more support.

He assured the VTH that his organisation would continue to assist the Hospital with more facilities to ensure efficient service delivery.

Receiving the item on behalf of the VTH, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, thanked the MSH for extending its support to the UNILORIN Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Prof. Egbewole, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Technology and Innovation), Prof. Muhtar Etudaiye, assured the donor that the donated item would be deployed effectively.

Speaking earlier, the Director of the VTH, Prof. Rauf Ibrahim, expressed gratitude of the management, staff and students to MHS.

Prof. Rauf, who was represented by the Coordinator/Deputy Director of the VTH, Dr Fatai Mobolaji Lawal, said that the previous donated equipment were found to be of high value and very useful to the Hospital.

The event was attended by the immediate past Deputy Vice Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Suleiman Funsho Ambali; the Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. M. O. Azeez; two former Deans of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. S. O. Salami and Prof. M. A. Raji as well as a consultant at the VTH, Dr AbdulRauf Obalowu, among several others.
