CISSA inaugurates new exco

The Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences Students Association (CISSA) has inaugurated its new Executive Committee. The new executives would run the activities of the body throughout the 2025/2026 academic session.

The inauguration took place last Monday (July 21,2025) at the Faculty Board Room.

Those inaugurated include the President, Sanni Nurudeen Akorede from the Department of Information Technology; Vice President, Oyebamiji Aminat Tobiloba from the Department of Telecommunication Science; General Secretary, Shittu Ayomide Ebunoluwa from the Department of Library and Information Science; Welfare Secretary,Shittu Fareedah Adedamola from the Department of Library and Information Science; Assistant General Secretary, Oguntuwase Oluwafemi from the Department of Telecommunication Science; Public Relations Officer, Kuforiji Ayobami Waris from the Department of Mass Communication, and Social Director, Akinleye Akinjuwon Olushola from the Department of Mass Communication.

Others are the Software Director, Chidiebere Franklin Ikeh from the Department of Computer Science; Financial Secretary, Shanu Mariam Oluwabunmi from the Department of Computer Science and Sports Director, Ashaolu Michael Toni from the Department of Library and Information Science.

In his  remarks, the new President, Sanni Nurudeen Akorede expressed gratitude for the administration’s support, noting its openness to constructive criticism and honest feedback. He emphasised the importance of teamwork among student leaders to achieve greatness.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Lukman Adesina Azeez, urged the new Executive Committee to review the outgoing executives’ affairs, understand the value of unlearning and relearning, and prioritise proper planning and budgeting for their activities.

On his part, the Sub-Dean, Dr Emos Bajeh, commended the outgoing exco’s performance and urged the new exco to emulate them and build on their legacies.

He emphasised that true leadership is about serving humanity and called on the new executives to ensure a conducive learning environment, free from intimidation and loss of academic equipment.
