The death has been announced of the Faculty Officer, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Ilorin, Mr Abdulwahab Bello.

Mr Bello died last Thursday (August 21, 2025) at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital as a result of  protracted illness.

The remains of the deceased have since been buried in accordance with Muslim rites in Ilorin after a Janazah prayer held at his ancestral home in the Okelele area of Ilorin.

Meanwhile, the Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Abdulganiyu Giwa, has described the death of Mr Bello as a great loss not only to the Faculty but also to the University as a whole.

In a chat with UNILORIN Bulletin, Prof. Giwa described the deceased as an honest, humble and hardworking person who left positive footprints everywhere he worked, particularly at the Faculty.

Prof. Giwa recalled that Mr Bello was a very committed, supportive, proactive and loyal Faculty Officer. He added that Mr Bello was also God fearing and very experienced.

The Dean sympathised with the relations, friends and colleagues of Mr Bello. He also prayed to Allah to forgive his shortcomings and rest his soul in Aljanat Fridaouz.
