Awokoya Foundation Scholarship calls for nominations

The Stephen Oluwole Awokoya  Foundation for Science Education has called on the management of the University of Ilorin to send nominations for its 2026 Post Graduate Scholarship Award in Science fields.  The scholarship is expected to commence in January 2026.

This was contained in a memo signed by the Dean, Postgraduate School, Prof. Nwosu, and made available to UNILORIN Bulletin last Friday(October 17, 2025).

The memo explained that the Board of Trustees of the Awokoya Foundation Scholarship has asked the University to forward to them, the names of its best graduating students in Agriculture, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences, Science Education and Veterinary Medicine, who are known to have an intention to pursue a Postgraduate degree in their various fields.

According to the Memo, “the nominees should not be students who graduated before 2025, or those who are currently Graduate Teaching Assistants in your Departments, as they will not qualify for the scholarship. Also , they should be the latest graduating student from the University.”

The memo requested that “each nominee to the scheme should have a reputation for hardwork and good behaviour. His /Her  University Transcript should be forwarded to the Board of Trustees together with a letter of recommendation from the Dean of the relevant Faculty.

 “Also, each nominee should fill the  enclosed form. The form is to be sent directly to the Foundation by the nominee together with his/her write-ups. It added that “not more than one nominee should be recommended from one department except the nominees have the same CGPA and no final year student yet to graduate is to be nominated.”
