Alooma tasks students on academic excellence

The Station Manager of UNILORIN 89.3 FM, Mr  Idris Akintola Ibrahim (Alooma), has urged secondary school students to always strive for excellence.

Mr Ibrahim gave this charge penultimate Thursday (May 15, 2025) while receiving some students of  Aderoju International School, Ilorin, who were on excursion to the station. The students were led to the station by the duo of the School Tourism Officer, Mr l. Olubunmi Joseph; and Mr Ajide Oluwaseyi.

While taking the students through the history of radio, from its inception to its evolution in Nigeria, the Station Manager stressed the importance of excellence and professionalism in the media industry.

He noted that UNILORIN FM has been consistently working on the set standards since its inauguration on August 13, 2009.

Mr Ibrahim also took the students  on a tour of the station as he explained the functions of the various units and state-of-the-art equipment in the radio station to the visitors.

The Station Manager also provided the visiting students insights into the media industry as he advised them to begin to show interest in the careers they would love to pursue.
