Aliagan, ex-DDI, bags 2025 ANA’s Fellowship

A former Head of the Directorate of Information, University of Ilorin, Prof. Isiaka Zubair Aliagan, has won this year’s Fellowship Award of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA).

This was contained in a letter sent to him by the President of ANA, Dr Usman Oladipo Akanbi and the General Secretary, Dame Joan Oji, a copy of which was sighted by UNILORIN Bulletin.

The letter explained that the honour is in recognition of Prof. Aliagan’s outstanding efforts and achievements in the propagation of literature in the service of humanity.

The letter added that the investiture of the renowned journalist and media scholar will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Chinua Achebe International Conference Centre, Mamman Vatsa Writers’ Village, Abuja.

Prof. Aliagan, who joined the services of the University of Ilorin in 1999 as Deputy Director, Information, is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Kwara State University, Malete.

Reacting to the development, the Director of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, Mr Kunle Akogun, congratulated Prof. Aliagan as he described the award as an honour well-deserved.

The Director explained that Prof. Aliagan’s reputation was greatly accentuated by his role as the  Head of the Directorate of Information, University of Ilorin, a position he held for almost a decade.

 Mr Akogun, who is the first  substantive Director of the Directorate, wished Prof. Aliagan a more successful and rewarding career.
