The Director of the Quality Assurance Unit, University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulMajeed AbdulRazzaq Alaro, has urged Nigerians to be united and speak with one voice against the threat of external invasion of the country.
Prof. Alaro made the call penultimate Sunday (November 1, 2025) while speaking at a public event held in Ilorin.
The cleric-don said that the threat of military intervention against Nigeria, which was issued by the President of the United States, Mr Donald Trump, should be taken seriously.
Prof. Alaro, who is a former Head of the Department of Islamic Law, University of Ilorin, explained that the threat was not rooted in religious purity but purely based on economic interests.
He added that beneath the threat are political and economic issues, which must be pointedly and swiftly addressed by the Federal Government and other stakeholders to ward off the threatened invasion.
