The Director of the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU), University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulRazzaq AbdulMajeed Alaro, has charged staff members of the Directorate of Corporate Affairs to ensure better service delivery.
Prof. Alaro made this appeal last Monday (July 21, 2025) during a meeting he held with staff of the Directorate.
He explained that the essence of the visit was not to witch-hunt but to observe how things are done and offer necessary advice on how better service delivery can be achieved for the betterment of the system.
The Director, who was accompanied to the meeting by the Deputy Director of QAU, Mrs Bilikisu Giwa; and another staff of QAU, Mrs Sherifat Makinde; said that it is important for staff of the Directorate to work harder as their duties revolve around the preservation and projection of the alluring image of the University.
Prof. Alaro, who is a former Head of the Department of Islamic Law, specifically urged the staff of UNILORIN FM to ensure a remarkable improvement in programme contents and ensure that the challenge of programme failure becomes a thing of the past in order to retain listenership and even attract new ones.
He commended the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, for his leadership, professionalism and hard work since he joined the services of the University.
Prof. Alaro added that Mr Akogun’s hard work, coupled with the support he enjoined from other staff members of the Directorate, has impacted positively and greatly on the corporate image of the University over the years.
Addressing some of the issues raised by the staff of the Directorate, Prof. Alaro explained that no Unit or organisation can have all it requires, saying that what needs to be done is to make effective use of what is available to achieve the desired goals.
The cleric-don promised to take up the enumerated challenges facing the Directorate with the University management with a view to addressing them within available resources.
In his response, the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Akogun, thanked Prof. Alaro and members of his team for the visit.
Mr Akogun also thanked Prof. Alaro for the advice he offered as he promised better service delivery by all units in the Directorate.
