The Director, Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, Mr Kunle Akogun, has appreciated the Chairman and members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State Council, for their support to the University over the years.
Mr Akogun made the remarks last Wednesday (August 13, 2025) at the grand finale of the 2025 Press Week and 45th anniversary celebration of the chapel.
The Director described the milestone as a “worthy celebration,” noting that 45 years in the life of any organisation is a remarkable achievement.
“I particularly appreciate members of the Correspondents’ Chapel. They make my job very easy. Since I joined the services of the University and became a member of UNILORIN Chapel and the Kwara Council about 13 years ago, I have enjoyed their support,” he said.
He prayed for God’s continued blessings on members, asking that “the Almighty enlarge your coast and meet you all at the points of your needs.”
Mr Akogun specifically commended the Chapel’s Chairman for his gentle mien, and accommodating leadership style.
“As you round off your tenure, may this position not be the end but the beginning of greater opportunities. By God’s grace, it will open more doors for you and for all of us,” he added.
