The President of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, University of Ilorin, Dr Shehu-Usman Oladipo Akanbi, has praised the University’s dedication to academic excellence and research.

Dr Akanbi gave this commendation in an interview anchored by Mr Idris Alooma and Idayat Hassan on UNILORIN 89.3 FM’s “Countdown to UNILORIN @50”, last Tuesday (November 18, 2025).

The ANA President, who attributed his success to the values instilled in him during his time as a student of the University, cited the University’s unique approach to education as a key factor in producing accomplished individuals across various fields.

He noted that the University has grown remarkably over the past 50 years, producing notable alumni in virtually every field of human endeavor.

Dr Akanbi highlighted the University’s impact on the community, emphasising its role in promoting cultural harmony and producing leaders.
