The Director of Academic Planning, University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulRasheed Abiodun Adeoye, has been elected Editor of the Society of Nigeria Theatre Artists (SONTA).
The election of Prof. Adeoye, who is also a former Dean of the Faculty of Arts, along with others into different positions, was part of the highlights of the Society’s 38th Annual International Conference and 39th Annual General Meeting recently held at the Lagos State University, Ojoo, Lagos.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has welcomed the emergence of Prof. Adeoye as SONTA’s Editor, describing it as a hugely inspiring development.
In a statement signed by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor described Prof. Adeoye as a distinguished member of the University community who has been working tirelessly with others towards ensuring that the institution remains on top.
The Vice Chancellor urged Prof. Adeoye to give the position his characteristic hardwork and finesse for the Society to remain a shining example as he said that his service delivery would also impact positively on the image of the University.
