The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has described the Vice Chancellor of African School of Economics, the Pan-African University of Excellence, Abuja, Prof. Mahfouz Adedimeji, as a treasured asset of the University of Ilorin.
Prof. Egbewole made this submission last Thursday (January 30, 2025) during a visit to Prof. Adedimeji after the maiden Public Lecture of the University delivered by the Managing Director and CEO of Galaxy Backbone Limited, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, at the African School of Economics, Gudu, Abuja.
Prof. Egbewole, who is the Secretary-General of the Association of West African Universities (AWAU), commended his host’s efforts to position the new university for excellence in teaching, research and community service while congratulating Prof. Adedimeji on the successful commencement of academic activities.
He assured African School of Economics of the support of the University of Ilorin, the Consortium of Universities in Kwara State and the Association of West African Universities in achieving its mandate.
Prof. Adedimeji thanked the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin and described his visit as an honour to him and his institution. He noted that his Pan-African University of Excellence would continue to derive inspiration from the excellence of the University of Ilorin.
Joining the Vice Chancellor of ASE to receive the Unilorin Vice Chancellor were the Registrar of ASE, Mrs Èmi-Fowowe Ogunboye and the University Librarian, Dr Anthonia Ejikeme.
