Abdulbaqi heads NSA’s adjudication panel

The Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, University of Ilorin, Prof. Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi, has been appointed Chairman of the Adjudication Panel for this year’s edition of the National Spokespersons Awards (NSA) organised by the Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR) in conjunction with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
The appointment of the renowned academic and public relations practitioner, who is also a member of the Governing Council of the NIPR, was announced in a statement issued by the Chairman of the IMPR, Dr Sule Yau Sule.
Other members of the panel, according to Dr Yau, are Dr Kabir Lawanti, Dr Princewill Achor, Mr Ishola Ayodele, Mr Sunday Odita and Ms Rahma Oladosu while Mr Abdulrahman Abdulraheem, would serve as the Secretary.
The awards, which are in different categories, were established to recognise the critical role spokespersons play in shaping narratives, building trust and fostering transparent communication between institutions and the public.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated Prof. Abdulbaqi on her appointment as the Chairman of the Adjudication Panel.
The Vice Chancellor said that the appointment is not only well deserved but it is also a clear affirmation of the trust reposed in Prof. Abdulbaqi by the organisers.
In a statement issued by the Director of Corporate Affairs of the University, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor described Prof. Abdulbaqi as a hard-working scholar who has become a pride to the University.
While wishing the Dean the best in the task ahead, Prof. Egbewole urged other staff members and students of the University to emulate her dignity, integrity and professionalism for the University to remain on top.
