About Department of Marketing
The Department of Marketing was established on 30th July 2013, at the 233rd meeting of the Senate of the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. The approval for the Department was given by the Senate along with the establishment of the Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Ilorin. The Department of Marketing is one of the newly created Departments in the University which commenced academic activity in the Faculty of Management Sciences in 2013/2014 session.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Marketing is to prepare students for professional and academic careers in marketing and related disciplines by providing basic programmes in the various areas suited to entrepreneurship, the needs for industrial sector, and the requirements of the society at large within the context of high moral and ethical standard.
Vision Statement
To build globally competitive marketing academics and practitioners that can favourably compare with others in similar field across the globe.
