Biochemistry 2006 alumni reaffirm commitment to alma mater

The Department of Biochemistry, University of Ilorin recently received a donation from its alumni class of 2006, as part of activities marking their reunion and efforts to strengthen their relationship with the Department.
The gesture, according to the representative of the alumni, Mr Seyi Ige Ogbonna, was to contribute to the improvement of teaching, learning and research facilities in the Department, particularly the laboratory infrastructure.
He also expressed their readiness to support initiatives aimed at improving the academic environment for current and future students.
Mr Ogbonna said they were particularly interested in ensuring that their reunion would translate into tangible support for the Department, rather than being limited to social interaction. They, therefore, pledged continued collaboration with the Department and expressed their willingness to contribute to its development whenever possible.

Receiving the delegation, the Head of the Department of Biochemistry, Prof. Faoziyah Sulaiman, appreciated them for remembering their alma mater and for demonstrating commitment to its continued development.
She noted that alumni support remained important to the growth of academic Departments, particularly in enhancing facilities and creating opportunities for students and staff.
