Ayinde bags AAAE’s Fellowship

A Professor of Agricultural Economics at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ilorin, Opeyemi E. Ayinde, has been elected a Fellow of the African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE) in recognition of her distinguished contributions to Agricultural Economics and agricultural development in Africa.
The certificate of the Fellowship sighted by UNILORIN Bulletin is signed by the President of the AAAE, Dr Joshua Ariga, and the Chair of the Local Organising Committee of the 8th AAAE Conference; Dr Oliver Kirui.
Prof. Ayinde served as Vice President of the Association from October 2019 to September 24, 2026, making her the longest-serving Vice-President of the AAAE.
The Fellowship recognises Prof. Ayinde’s scholarly contributions, leadership and sustained service to the Association, particularly her research in agricultural innovation, risk and climate adaptation.
It also acknowledges her commitment to mentoring emerging agricultural economists and advancing research and scholarship in the field.
Meanwhile, the Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council of the University, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, has congratulated Prof. Ayinde on her election as a Fellow of the AAAE and wished her continued success in her academic and professional endeavours.
“This is a big feat’’, Mr Alfanla said, adding, ‘‘I am not surprised at the confirmation; it is a testament to who you are and what you represent. I say a big congratulations to you. More wins, more feats. I am happy for this.”
