Yakubu elected Fellow of Academy of Medical Sciences

A former Director of the Central Research Laboratory, University of Ilorin, Prof. Musa Toyin Yakubu, has been elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Nigeria,( FAMedS).

The election of the distinguished scholar, who teaches at the Department of Biochemistry, was conveyed in an internal memorandum dated August 24, 2026 and addressed to the Vice Chancellor of the University by the honouree.

According to the memo, the Council of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Nigeria elected Prof. Yakubu into the prestigious fellowship.

The election of Prof. Yakubu was sequel to  a rigorous evaluation by the Selection Committee of the Academy.

Prof. Yakubu is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Sciences and a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences.
