We ‘ll support you, Belgore assures CILS

A distinguished elder-statesman, Engr Sa’adu Belgore, has assured the management and staff of the Centre for Ilorin Studies(CILS), University of Ilorin, of the support of the Belgore dynasty of Ilorin in its tasks of making the Centre more relevant.
Engr Belgore gave this assurance last Wednesday (September 2, 2026) when the delegation of the Centre led by its Director, Prof. Ali Arazeem Abdullahi, paid him a working visit at his Basin Road Residence, Ilorin.
The renowned entrepreneur, who received the delegation on behalf of the Head of the Family and former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Saliu Modibbo Alfa Belgore, GCON, expressed delight with the decision of the Centre to document the histories of some prominent families in Ilorin Emirate through documentary film, saying that the family would cooperate fully in ensuring the realisation of the dream.
Engr Belgore said that the project would be an opportunity to properly document the contributions of members of the selected families to the growth and development of the Ilorin Emirate and the nation at large as he also said that it would be a remarkable legacy that would be left behind for generations unborn.
Speaking earlier, Prof. Abdullahi said that the visit was to introduce the new management of the Centre to the respected Belgore family.
Prof. Abdullahi, who was accompanied by his Deputy, Dr Mahmud Danjuma, among others, informed his host of the desire of the Centre to document the histories of many of the prominent families whose contributions earned the University’s host community honour at national and international levels
