IBS sponsors 100 Unilorites on youth entrepreneurship programme

The University of Ilorin has received a ₦5,000,000 sponsorship offer from the Ibadan Business School (IBS) to fully fund 100 students of the University under the IBS Youth Entrepreneurial Development Programme (YEDP).
In a letter of appreciation dated August 26, 2026, and addressed to the President/CEO of IBS, Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi, the Registrar of the University of Ilorin, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, conveyed the gratitude of the Council, Senate, Management, staff and students of the University for the gesture.
According to the letter, a copy of which was sighted by UNILORIN Bulletin, the sponsorship is aimed at equipping the beneficiaries with practical entrepreneurial skills to create sustainable livelihoods and contribute to national development. The initiative also supports efforts to reduce graduate unemployment in the country.
“The Management is deeply grateful for your generous gesture to fully sponsor one hundred students of the University under the Ibadan Business School (IBS) Youth Entrepreneurial Development Programme (YEDP) valued at Five Million naira ( N5,000,000) only. This gesture reflects your abiding commitment to youth empowerment, entrepreneurship development, and the reduction of graduate unemployment in our nation,” the Registrar stated.
Mr Alfanla noted that the programme aligns with the University’s vision of producing graduates who are not only academically sound but also skilled for self-reliance. He added that the University has taken note of IBS’s request for a “balanced nomination” and will compile and forward the list of nominees before the stipulated deadline.
The Registrar further expressed optimism that the collaboration would be fruitful and would ensure the successful participation of Unilorin students in the programme.
