A Professor of Library and Information Science at the University of Ilorin, Prof. Adeyinka Tella, has been appointed into the Editorial Boards of four international journals in recognition of his outstanding scholarly contributions and growing global impact on Library and Information Science research.

Prof. Tella, who disclosed this last Monday (August 3, 2026) while speaking with UNILORIN Bulletin in his office, stressed that the appointments followed sustained research productivity and the international visibility of his publications.

He explained that the latest of the invitations came from the IFLA Journal, which is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading scholarly journals in Library and Information Science.

He explained that his appointment into the IFLA Journal Editorial Board came after a rigorous selection process involving over 140 applicants from different countries, describing the invitation as an opportunity for greater professional service to the global academic community.

Prof. Tella also revealed that he had earlier been appointed to the Editorial Board of Information Services and Use, an international journal dedicated to advancing research in Information Science.

He added that he was similarly invited to serve on the Editorial Board of the Ukrainian Journal of Library and Information Science following the publication of one of his scholarly articles in the journal.

The don further disclosed his appointment to the Editorial Board of Contemporary Academic Library and Information Practice (CALIP), a newly established journal of the Zimbabwe University Libraries Consortium.

Prof. Tella encouraged academics to remain committed to impactful research beyond promotion requirements, stressing that quality scholarship naturally attracts international recognition, research collaborations and opportunities for professional service.

He also urged colleagues to take advantage of the international journals by submitting quality manuscripts that would contribute to the advancement of knowledge and enhance the global visibility of Nigerian scholarship.
