UNILORIN Vet. Medicine lecturer gets global appointment

A lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ilorin, Dr Arinnie Deborah Adah, has been nominated as a member of the Technical Working Group on Medicine Stewardship of the World Veterinary Association (WVA).
The development, which is an international recognition of Dr Adah’s professional contributions to the field of Veterinary Medicine, was communicated by the nominee through a letter to the University Management penultimate Thursday (July, 23, 2026).
According to the notification, the WVA is the global body representing the veterinary profession and it is committed to promoting animal health and welfare, public health, One Health, and the advancement of veterinary medicine.
The appointment will give Dr Adah the opportunity to contribute to global efforts in responsible medicine use, antimicrobial stewardship, and to the fight against antimicrobial resistance through the One Health approach.
Describing the nomination as a significant achievement for both herself and the University, Dr Adah noted that it reflects the growing visibility of the University and its contribution to global veterinary education, research, and policy development.
The don expressed appreciation for the enabling environment and support provided by the University, reaffirming her commitment to representing the institution with distinction while strengthening teaching, research, international collaborations, and community engagement.
