IEDPU hails Sanusi on successful tenure

The lorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has acknowledged the impacts of Prof. Issa Olanrongbe Sanusi as Director of the Centre for Ilorin Studies (CILS), University of Ilorin.
The National President of the Union, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, gave the commendation while assessing the tenure of Prof. Sanusi, which ended last Friday (July 31, 2026). Prof. Sanusi assumed the position in 2023.
Alhaji Abdulmalik recalled the efforts of Prof. Sanusi, which attracted the support of the Union and several other stakeholdersto the Centre.
He added that the Director did his best in ensuring that the Centre becomes a warehouse of knowledge on issues, events and personalities that have to do with the University’s host community.
The community leader, who is also an alumnus of the University, expressed the hope that Prof. Sanusi would be succeeded by an equally hardworking and dedicated scholar who possesses all that would be needed to take the Centre to greater heights.
A lecturer at the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages, Prof. Sanusi is the fifth Director of the Centre, which was established by the administration of Prof. Emeritus Ishaq Olanrewaju Oloyede, CON, about two decades ago.
Alhaji Abdulmalik wished Prof. Sanusi success in his future endeavours.
