The Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umar Zulum, has described a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin and Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Emeritus Prof. Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, CON, as a man whose integrity has never been in doubt.
Prof. Zulum stated this last Wednesday (July 22, 2026) while handing over the newly-completed Maiduguri JAMB Zonal Office and 500-capacity CBT Centre to the Board in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The Governor, who praised the former Vice Chancellor for doing his best as the Chief Executive Officer of JAMB, described Emeritus Prof. Oloyede as a very hardworking and dedicated gentleman.
The Governor said that he was impressed with the epoch-making contributions of the JAMB Registrar and hence his decision to honour him with the building, commissioning and naming of the project after the former Vice Chancellor.
The complex was later commissioned by Emeritus Prof. Oloyede in the presence of the Governor and the incoming Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of JAMB, Prof. Segun Aina, among several other dignitaries.
Emeritus Prof. Oloyede, who served as the eighth Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin from 2007 to 2012, is a proud alumnus of the University who had earlier obtained all his degrees from the institution.
