Stop impersonating our President, UNILORIN Alumni body warns Fasakin
By Abubakar Imam
The University of Ilorin Alumni Association has again expressed dissatisfaction with the impersonation of its National President by Dr Stephen Fasakin.
The Association, in a statement issued by its General Secretary, Dr Barakat Raji, a copy of which was made available to UNILORIN Bulletin last Tuesday (June 30, 2026), explained that Dr Fasakin has since ceased to be the National President of the Association following the constitution of a new National Executive Council of the body.
Dr Raji, who is an Associate Professor at the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law, University of Ilorin, said that the National President of the Association is Prof. Abdulrasaq Olubusuyi Kelani, who teaches at the University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.
The Law teacher said that the Association was not only surprised but also disappointed that despite repeated warnings, Dr Fasakin has kept parading himself as the National President of the Association, the latest of which was in Abuja where he presented an authorised award to a senior police officer.
While warning members of the public, particularly alumni and stakeholders of the University across the world, not to deal with Dr Fasakin in any business that has to do with the Association, Dr Raji said that whoever ignores this disclaimer does so at his or her own peril.
