Management hails Awoyale’s support

The management of the University of Ilorin has commended a United States’ based friend of the University, Mr Yiwola Awoyale, for donating the sum of ₦4. 5 million for the payment of two academic prize awards to outstanding graduates of the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages.

In a letter dated June 24, 2026, addressed to the donor and signed by the Registrar of the University, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, a copy of which was made available to UNILORIN Bulletin, the management said that the prize awards are for the best students in Linguistics and Yoruba.

While assuring the donor, who is a former lecturer at the Department, that the awards would be judiciously disbursed to the beneficiaries during the convocation ceremonies of the University, Mr Alfanla said that the management is deeply grateful for his invaluable support, which would significantly contribute to the encouragement and recognition of academic excellence among the students of the University.
