UNILORIN alumnus appointed FUADS DVC

An alumnus of the Department of Microbiology, University of Ilorin, Prof. Charles Oluwaseun Adetunji, has been appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture and Development Studies (FUADS), Iragbiji, Osun State.
Prof. Adetunji, whose appointment was recently announced by the authorities of the University, began his career as a senior official of the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI), Ilorin, which he joined shortly after completing his youth service.
Prior to joining the services of FUADS, Prof. Adetunji also taught at Landmark University, Omu-Aran. He, thereafter, joined the services of the Edo State University, Uzairue and delivered the University’s 11th Inaugural Lecture, titled “Microbial Biosphere: The Global Impact and Underexplored Currency”.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has welcomed the appointment of the renowned academic as a Deputy Vice Chancellor of one of the new set of Federal Government-owned universities.
In a statement issued by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor congratulated Prof. Adetunji on his appointment, which he described as meritorious and well-deserved.
While expressing his conviction that the ex-Unilorite is imbued with all he would need to succeed, Prof. Egbewole encouraged the new Deputy Vice Chancellor to work with other Principal Officers of the new University to ensure that the institution achieves the essence of its establishment.
Prof. Egbewole wished him a peaceful and rewarding tenure.
