About Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering

The Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering University of Ilorin was carved out from of the Department of Civil Engineering in 2013. Water Resources and Environmental Engineering focuses on the development, use and management of land and water resources in the rural and urban watersheds to the benefit of end users. The course curriculum is compliant with the requirements of the COREN and NUC’S BMAS.

What We Offer

Students in this program will obtain a liberal engineering education, which includes a comprehensive core of science, mathematics and engineering science that provides a strong foundation for engineering design and analysis. This enables students to undertake the solution of engineering problems in areas of systems and computing, biological, environmental and water resources.  Core subjects, combined with electives, provide an understanding of connection between engineering and science, coupled with interdisciplinary skills needed to address the problems and challenges faced by engineers in the society today. The objective of the program is to produce graduates who will acquire adequate theoretical and practical knowledge in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering. Equip students with ability to design, model, and supervise the construction of water resources and environmental projects and systems. Produce graduates with adequate entrepreneurship and communication skills required to perform as national and global citizen.
