About Department of Chemical Pathology and Immunology
The Department of Chemical Pathology and Immunology was established in 1977 with the appointment of Late Professor Henry Olusegun Adewoye of blessed memory as the first Head of the Department. The current Head of Department is Dr. S.A Biliaminu, a Consultant Chemical Pathologist and Senior Lecturer in the Department.
Chemical Pathology and Immunology as a Department is one of the four (4) departments that constitute the Pathological Sciences in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences of the College of Health Sciences of University of Ilorin, Ilorin.
The Department works harmoniously with the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin. The department makes use of equipments, reagents and consumables as well as manpower of the hospital when the need arises. There are also research collaborations with the hospital end.
As a Department, it operates on the Philosophy of the College which is based on ‘’Students’ Centered Learning and Problem Solving”.
