Adedimeji showers encomiums on Egbewole over Body of Benchers’ appointment

The Vice Chancellor of the African School of Economics (The Pan-Africsn University of Excellence), Abuja, Prof. Mahfouz Adebola Adedimeji, has congratulated the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, on his appointment to the Nigerian Body of Benchers, the apex legal regulatory institution in the nation.
In his congratulatory message dated April 22, 2026, Prof. Adedimeji hailed Prof. Egbewole’s appointment to the Body of Benchers as another golden ring in his long chain of achievements as a legal luminary, eminent scholar and academic leader in Africa.
Prof. Adedimeji, who chairs the UNILORIN Bulletin Editorial Board, said, “It is apparent that your jurisprudential excellence, professional integrity, academic leadership and administrative acumen are evident in all the various roles you have played over the years from the courtroom and the classroom to the boardroom.’’ He added, ‘‘There is no doubt that your appointment is an acknowledgement of your decades of painstaking service, exceptional leadership, profound scholarship and unwavering commitment to the principles of law, justice and ethics.”
The renowned academic pointed out, “The cap fits you well! Given the crucial roles the Body of Benchers plays in shaping the present and future of law practice and education in Nigeria, your broad-based background as a renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria, versatile scholar of international repute and dynamic University administrator in Nigeria and beyond has positioned you to enrich the deliberations and decisions of the esteemed Body.”
