Ekiti govt. names UNILORIN alumnus monarch

The Ekiti State Government has announced the appointment of a distinguished alumnus of theĀ University of Ilorin, Mr Adewole Oluwatosin Adewale, as the new Owa of Ayegbaju-Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of the State.
The appointment of the UNILORIN alumnus was announced consequent upon its approval by the Ekiti State Executive Council on Wednesday (February 18,2026).
The new monarch was appointed to fill the stool, which became vacant on February 15, 2024 following the passing of Oba Solomon Adeloye.
Oba Adewale was born on October 28, 1994. He bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in SocialĀ Work from the Better by far University in 2021.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated the new royal father on his well-deserved appointment.
Prof. Egbewole, in a statement signed by the Director of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, Mr Kunle Akogun, said that the entire members of the University community were delighted on the news, saying that Oba Adewale has joined the league of alumni of the University who have mounted the stool of their illustrious forebears.
Prof. Egbewole, who expressed conviction that the ex-Unilorite would lead his people into greatness, wished Oba Adewale a very long, peaceful and rewarding reign.
