The General Manager of UNILORIN 89.3 FM radio station, Mr Idris Alooma, has expressed gratitude to a group of students from the Technical and Entrepreneurship Center (TEC) for donating a roll-up banner and stickers to the station. He explained that the materials would go a long way in increasing the popularity and visibility of the station.

Mr Alooma gave this commendation last Tuesday (March 3, 2026) while receiving the items from the donors in his office.

The renowned broadcaster charged students to prepare for the unknown future by acquiring skills and mastering them before graduating from the University.

He emphasised that University education is about solving societal problems and encouraged students to be job creators rather than job seekers.

Mr Alooma also urged students to take advantage of the radio station’s training schemes, which have benefited over 5,000 of their past and current colleagues through learning, practice, and certification.

Speaking earlier, the leader of the team, Taiwo  Eniola Solace, who is a 300-level Mass Communication student, said that they decided to donate to the station so as to increase its visibility.

She expressed appreciation to Mr Alooma and his team for the good job the station is doing in the realms of information, education, and entertainment as she also encouraged students to listen to the radio, participate in its activities, and bring in advertisements to support the station.

The Unilorite also advised her colleagues across the various Faculties of the University to learn at least one skill for them to become self-reliant.
