Shuaib-Babaita emerges North-Central Scout’s ACC

A former Head of the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, University of Ilorin, Prof. Yusuf Lanre Shuaib-Babaita, has been appointed  an Assistant Chief Commissioner (ACC), North Central Zone of the Scout Association of Nigeria.

The appointment of Prof. Shuaib-Babaita was contained in a letter dated February 28, 2026 signed by Dr Zack Ekanola, the Chief Commissioner of Scout in Nigeria, a copy of which was made available to UNILORIN Bulletin.

With the appointment, Prof. Shuaib-Babaita is placed in-charge of members of Scout and their official operations in all the states of the North-Central geopolitical zone.

Speaking to UNILORIN Bulletin on the development, Prof. Shuaib-Babaita described the appointment as a great honour and a privilege to further serve humanity.

The don, who received all his degrees from the Better by far University, also thanked the authorities of the University for the privilege he is given to remain a functional member of the Nigerian Scout movement.

Prof. Shuaib-Babaita urged other Unilorites to join the Scout Movement as he promised to continue to use the platform of his membership of the movement to further polish and project the image of the University to the outside world.
