The National President of the Omo Ibile Igbomina, Comrade Bisi Fakoyode, has assured the University of Ilorin Branch of the Association of its support and collaboration as he called on members to uphold unity, punctuality, and mutual cooperation to strengthen the organisation.
Comrade Fakoyode gave the assurance last Tuesday (February 17, 2026) while receiving a delegation of the University of Ilorin Igbomina community during a courtesy visit to the Association’s Secretariat in Ganmo.
The National President expressed appreciation for the visit and the active participation of members in the activities of the Association. He assured them that their requests would be carefully considered and that the national body would work collaboratively with them to advance the goals of the Association.
Earlier, the UNILORIN Branch’s delegation, led by Prof. Lanre Tajudeen Ajibade, reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the national leadership of the Association to promote unity, development, and the collective progress of the Igbomina community.
Prof. Ajibade explained that the visit was to formally greet the new national leadership of the Association.
He requested the permission of the national body of the Association for the Branch to hold future monthly meetings at the Omo Ibile Igbomina Secretariat for accessibility and convenience.
Prof. Ajibade, who is a former Dean of Student Affairs, University of Ilorin, emphasised the importance of regular attendance at general meetings and encouraged members to contribute constructive ideas for the progress of the Association.
Members were, however, cautioned against religious and ethnic discrimination as they were urged to uphold dignity, fairness, and justice in all engagements.
Other members of the delegation included Mr Olusegun Adewuyi, Dr Tayo Arinde, Mrs Beatrice O. Ishola, Mr Murtala Oyinloye, Mr Musbau Jimoh, Mr Samuel Ayanda, Mrs Olufunke F. Gbadeyan, and Mr Mustafa Abubakar.
