The Vice-Chancellor of Muhammad Kamaldeen University (MKU), Ogidi, Ilorin, Prof. Abdulrasheed Gbenga Jimoh, who is also the Director of the Computer Services and Information Technology (COMSIT), University of Ilorin, has charged newly admitted students of the University to embrace discipline, academic excellence, and integrity as hallmarks of their studentship.
Prof. Jimoh gave the charge last Friday (January 23, 2026) during the 3rd Matriculation Ceremony of the institution.
The Vice Chancellor congratulated the matriculating students on securing admission into the University, describing their admission as the beginning of a demanding but rewarding academic journey.
He urged the students to take their studies seriously and to conduct themselves in line with the rules and regulations of the institution.
Prof. Jimoh highlighted notable achievements recorded by the University so far, including steady expansion of academic programmes, improvement of learning and teaching facilities, compliance with accreditation requirements, and the recruitment of qualified academic personnel.
According to him, these milestones are deliberate efforts to ensure that students are trained in an environment that promotes scholarship, innovation, and character development.
Prof. Jimoh, drawing from the University of Ilorin’s tradition of excellence, noted that MKU shares similar core values of discipline, diligence, and integrity.
He charged the 206 new students to be worthy ambassadors of the University, stressing that the Management remains committed to producing graduates who are not only academically sound but also morally upright and socially responsible.
In his address, the Pro-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem, described the ceremony as a landmark event that reflects the steady growth and stability of the young private university.
He noted that the successful organisation of a third matriculation within a short period of establishing the university underscored the confidence reposed in the institution by parents, guardians, and relevant regulatory bodies.
Prof. Abdulraheem further commended the Management of the University for its unwavering commitment to quality assurance, sound governance, and moral discipline.
The Pro-Chancellor assured stakeholders that the Governing Council would continue to provide purposeful leadership and policy support aimed at sustaining high academic standards and positioning MKU as a reference point for private university education in Nigeria.
Present at the event was the Khalifatul-adabiyun worldwide, Sheik Abdulkadir Adisa Al-Adaby, the Chairman, Board of Trustees and National President, Ansarul-Islam Society of Nigeria, Alhaji Olayiwola Afolabi, the Registrar, Engr Musa Mustapha Kamaldeen Al-Adaby, staff and students of the university among others.
