UMLC pays working visits to Faculties

Officials of the University of Ilorin Muslim Ladies Circle (UMLC) have paid a series of courtesy visits to selected Faculties of the University as part of their efforts to strengthen engagement, promote moral, academic, and spiritual development among female staff.

The visits, which took placeĀ  last Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th, January, 2026, saw members of the Association meet with Faculty staff, where they formally introduced the objectives and activities of the Muslim Ladies Circle.

The UMLC officials, led by the Coordinator, Prof Nafisat Adedokun Shittu, explained that the initiative was aimed at fostering cordial relationships with Faculty staff while seeking guidance and support for programmes targeted at empowering Muslim female staff academically and morally.

Speaking during the visits, Prof Shittu noted that UMLC is committed to promoting values such as discipline, modesty, leadership, and academic excellence among its members.

She emphasised that collaboration with Faculties would help the Association align its activities with the academic vision of the University and ensure that staff members balance religious commitment with scholarly pursuits.

The Faculties visited include Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, and Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, among others.

In their responses, each of the Faculty representatives commended the UMLC for the initiative, describing the visits as timely and laudable.

They encouraged the Association to continue its advocacy for positive values and urged members to remain focused on their duties while contributing meaningfully to the University community.

Members of the UMLC delegation include Mrs Ajidagba Saka Amudalat of Estate Management, Mrs Lubabat Abdulhakeem from Library and Information Science, Mrs Musa Bilkis Bolajoko from Corporate Affairs, Mrs Ghaniyah Aderinoye from Mass communication, and Mrs Fehintola Majeed from Pharmaceutical Sciences, among others.
