Egbewole to chair Kuliyan Ilorin’s book launch, youth mentorship summit

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole,SAN, would on Thursday(January 15, 2026) preside-over the public presentation and launch of the book, ” Kuliya of Ilorin: A Life of Purpose”. The book is a biography of the Kuliya of Ilorin and former Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of the Osun State University, Osogbo, Prof. Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN.
Prof. Ali, an Ilorin-based prominent legal practitioner and former Chairman of the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State-Owned Universities, is not just an associate of the Vice Chancellor but also a long-standing friend and benefactor of the University of Ilorin.
The presentation, which would hold alongside the unveiling of the Kuliya Ngari of Ilorin Emirate’s National Youth Mentorship Summit, would take place at the Auditorium of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, beginning from 10:00am. The event is organised by the Nigerian Media Parliament (NMP).
Prof Egbewole, a seasoned legal luminary and respected administrator, is expected to provide strategic direction and institutional depth to the event as he would also reinforce its focus on scholarship, mentorship, and nation-building.
A major highlight of the gathering will be the keynote address that would be delivered by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN.
Other dignitaries expected at the event include the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari,SAN; an Ilorin-based legal practitioner, Mr Kehinde Kolawole Eleja, SAN; and the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Prof. Lateef Folorunsho Oladimeji, among others.
