An Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja, Dr Abdulkadir Jumuah Salman Sholagberu, has commended a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Emeritus Ishaq Olanrewaju Oloyede, CON, for his tremendous contributions to national and human development.
Dr Sholagberu, who is also the Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin, gave this commendation last Thursday (December 25, 2025) while delivering a lecture at the opening ceremony of the 60th National Conference of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) at the Union’s National Secretariat Complex, Ilorin.
The former Vice Chancellor, who is also the Secretary-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and his successor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, OON, were among several dignitaries from far and near that attended the event.
Dr Sholagberu said that the Professor Emeritus, who is also the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has left no one in doubt of his patriotism and fascinating capacity for service delivery over the years.
The Imam added that Prof. Emeritus Oloyede is a man who does not discriminate, saying that the highly respected JAMB Registrar is also a very honest person who always encourages the pursuit of rectitude in his private and public lives.
Dr Sholagberu recalled that the Prof. Emeritus, who is also the Kuliyan Sokoto, did well as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin as he is also doing very well in his current positions.
The cleric equally paid glowing tributes to the Prof. Emeritus Oloyede for the role he played in his appointment as an Imam of the National Mosque.

While encouraging the JAMB Registrar to continue to provide good leadership to Nigerians, the cleric urged others, particularly the youths, to emulate the sterling qualities of the award-winning administrator for the country to be dominated by patriots.
