Oloyede bags NSE Fellowship

The Director, Centre for Research, Development and In-House Training (CREDIT), University of Ilorin, Prof. Abdulkarim Oloyede, has been conferred with the prestigious Fellowship of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).

Prof. Oloyede, who teaches at the institution’s Department of Telecommunications, is a Wireless and Internet Governance specialist with almost two decades of academic and industry experience.

In October, Prof. Oloyede was nominated as the Secretary-General of the Nigerian Network for Economics of Learning, Innovation, and Competence Building Systems (NigeriaLics).

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, expressed profound pride and congratulations following the news of the investiture held last Monday (December 1, 2025) at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.

In a statement signed by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, Prof. Egbewole commended the achievement, noting that the honour recognises Prof. Oloyede’s significant contributions to telecommunications, engineering, and academia.

The African Telecommunications Union (ATU) had earlier named Prof. Oloyede as a Consultant to the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) in 2021.
