A postgraduate student at the Department of Chemistry, University of Ilorin, Victoria A. Ikudayisi-Ugbe, has emerged as the winner of this year’s edition of the annual Prof. O. O. Adewoye Merit Award at the just-concluded 2025 edition of the annual conference of the Materials Science and Technology Society.
The conference, which was held between November 17 and 21, 2025, took place in Auchi, Edo State and recorded the attendance of several members of the Society and students of relevant disciplines from many universities and polytechnics across Nigeria.
Speaking with UNILORIN Bulletin, the immediate past Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences, University of Ilorin, Prof. Abdullahi Alafara Baba, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Unilorite.
He explained that he was delighted that the winner made the University proud, particularly because it happened on the eve of the Golden Jubilee of the University.
The former Dean, who is the President of the Society, urged other students of the University to always work hard to excel in their studies and make the University and their families proud.
