The University of Ilorin has congratulated Dr Abdulrazaq Kamal Daudu of the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development on his selection for a prestigious Senior Fellowship at the College for Advanced Studies, University Alliance Ruhr, Essen, Germany.
Dr Daudu, whose six-month fellowship will run from September 1, 2026 to February 28, 2027, was announced as a Senior Fellow following a competitive process.
His research project will focus on digital extension services and their influence on wealth distribution among Nigerian households, with particular attention to gender gaps.
He will work with Prof. Jakob Kapeller of the University of Duisburg-Essen as his academic tandem partner.
In separate congratulatory messages, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, and the Registrar, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, described the award as a remarkable achievement that highlights Dr Daudu’s dedication to scholarship and international research collaboration.
The Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Isreal Ogunlade and the Acting Head of Department, Dr Kemi F. Omotesho also commended the Fellowship as a significant opportunity for academic growth.
In her letter of confirmation, Prof. Julika Griem, Founding Director of the College for Social Sciences and Humanities, outlined the benefits attached to the fellowship, including office space, library services, event support, a monthly research budget of €1,250, and a monthly grant of €3,050.
