The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), University of Ilorin Branch, has clarified its position on the proposed Federal Government loan for tertiary institutions staff, stating that there has been no official communication on the scheme.
Speaking during the branch’s first Congress after its recent Quadrennial Election, held last Tuesday (August 26, 2025), the Chairman, Comrade Naheem Olushola Falowo, explained that the terms of the loan remain unclear.
He said SSANU would not compel members to participate in the scheme but noted that individual staff members who wish to access the facility may do so at their discretion.
The Congress also addressed matters relating to staff welfare, with the Chairman informing members that Letters of Introduction were available for those who had completed the SSANU Google form. He advised members yet to receive theirs to contact him for prompt resolution.
Comrade Falowo appreciated members for their support during the recent election, describing the Congress as significant, being the first under the newly inaugurated executive.
