PG students elect new EXCO

The University of Ilorin Postgraduate Students’ Association (POGSASS) last Friday  (August 22, 2025) elected a new Executive Committee to steer its affairs, with Mr Hakeem Abiodun Kuranga, a PhD student of the Faculty of Agriculture, emerging as the new President.

Declaring the result of the election at the Postgraduate Board Room, the Secretary of the Independent Postgraduate Electoral Committee (IPEC), Mr Abdulrasaq Habeebullah Kolapo, announced that a total of 998 eligible postgraduate students participated in the exercise.

For the position of Vice President,  Odeleye Omowumi Margaret won unopposed, while for the General Secretary position, Mr Lawal Anigilaje emerged victorious.

Others elected were, Assistant Secretary, Afolabi Oluwaseun Emmanuel; Financial  Secretary, Akanbi Abdulwarith Alubarka; Welfare Director I, Mr Aliu Abdulbasit;  and Welfare II, Ajepe Ifeoluwa Ayomide.

Other winners were :

Hanafi Hammed Kehinde, Journal  Director;  Mr Ogundoro Kehinde, Public Relations Officer; Mr Sidiq Kamalden, Sports Director; and Mr Kehinde Muhammad; Social Director.

Also elected into the Postgraduate Students Legislative Council (PGSLC) were Shehu Ibrahim, Isiaka Abdullah Ndadzola, Kolawole Abdulqudus, Usman Muktar (M.O.U), Alaro Tajudeen Abiodun, Ojo Favour Temitope, Badirudeen Adebayo, Oladele Ezekiel Olaniyi, Abdulkarim Ibrahim, Obasa Yusuf Ayorinde, Ajayi Praise-God Samuel, Okanlawon Jesudunni Pius, Adegboye Umar-Faruq (Principal), and Ologbonsaye Oluwaferanmi.
