The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has donated a commemorative souvenir to the University of Ilorin as part of its contributions to the University’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
The Kwara State Coordinator of RMRDC, Mrs. Adewumi Lydia, presented the souvenir to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, last Monday (August 11, 2025) when she led a delegation from the Council on a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor.
Mrs. Adewumi commended the University Administration for its support to the Council during a recent Summit it held in the state, while advocating for stronger collaboration between the two institutions.
In his response, Prof. Egbewole expressed appreciation to the Council for the gesture, describing it as thoughtful and significant. He noted that RMRDC was among the first organisations to present the University with an anniversary gift and reaffirmed the commitment of the institution to deepening its partnership with the Council.
The Vice Chancellor directed the Deputy Registrar, Office of the Vice Chancellor, Mrs. Azeezat Ibrahim, to engage with the Council to explore ways of enhancing the University’s U-Inspire programme through joint initiatives.
Prof. Egbewole also identified the Faculty of Engineering, the Centre for Blue and Regenerative Economy, and other specialised centres within the University as possible focal points for advancing the partnership, adding that both institutions had come a long way and would continue to strengthen their ties for greater impact.
