Come to JUPEB, Egbewole urges school leavers

By Abubakar Imam

The Deputy Registrar in-charge of the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB), University of Ilorin, Mrs Muibat Adeola Egbewole, has urged graduates of secondary schools to take advantage of the programme instead of waiting endlessly for admission into universities.

Mrs Egbewole made the appeal last Monday (July 28, 2025) while featuring on ‘Registry Half Hour’, a special weekly programme of UNILORIN 89. 3 FM anchored by Ms Bimbo Durojaiye.

She said that instead of being idle at home after missing admission into universities in a particular year, secondary school leavers should be encouraged by their parents, teachers and guardians to enroll in the programme and get themselves prepared for higher education.

Mrs Egbewole said that the programme is just like an Advanced Level programme at which students can register for three subjects, which if they pass, would qualify them for admission into 200 level to study any relevant course of their choice.

She explained that the result obtained from the programme is acceptable in all Nigerian universities.

Mrs Egbewole, who is also the President of the University of Ilorin Women Association, said that the result obtained at the end of the programme is tenable for admission over a period of three years.

The Deputy Registrar said that the programme is even made easier at the University of Ilorin considering the availability of enabling facilities such as accommodation, clinic, library, counselling and internet facilities for students.

She encouraged students of the University, particularly those undergoing the JUPEB programme, to study hard, engage in group discussions and make effective use of the library for them to excel in their studies and be worthy of becoming undergraduates.

Mrs Egbewole was accompanied to the studio by the JUPEB Counsellor, Mrs Maryam Raheem and another senior official of the Unit, Mr Adebanji Adebayo.
