The Director of UNILORIN Consultancy Services Centre, Prof. Bashiru Raji, has disclosed that the University management, under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has trained approximately 150 staff members across various Faculties, Departments and units.

Prof. Raji stated this last Wednesday (June 18, 2025) while speaking at a 5-Day Capacity Building Training for selected staff members of the University at Awrab Hotel, Offa.

The Director noted that the training opportunities provided by the University management was aimed  at enhancing staff skills and promote  efficiency and productivity.

Prof. Raji advised participants to pay close attention to the lectures, emphasising that learning is a lifelong process and that acquired knowledge and skills will always improve their service delivery.

He commended the University management, particularly the Registrar, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, for consistently approving training opportunities for staff memebers and called for its continuation on a regular basis.

Also speaking, the Deputy Director of UNILORIN Consultancy Services Centre, Dr Taofeeq Olanrewaju Lawal, emphasised the importance of training programmes,stressing that they are crucial for organisational development. He noted that the knowledge and skills gained from such training would enhance participants’ productivity in service delivery.

Mr Adeyinka Ajiboye Olabami Victoria, a Senior Technologist from the Department of Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering, appreciated the University management for the opportunity to participate in the training and appealed for more frequent training sessions, especially for technologists, incorporating practical equipment.

In a presentation titled “Evolving Role of ICT and Corporate Communication in Educational Branding,” Alhaji Moshood Adebimpe, a former Chief Press Secretary to the Kwara State Governor, described the Corporate Affairs Unit as a vital selling point that promotes, protects, and projects the University’s activities.

 He advised members of staff of the Directorate to be meticulous with public information and provide relevant information on their uniqueness to stakeholders.

Alhaji Adebimpe, who described the University as a frontline institution that must be continuously projected through the achievement of his alumni, cited Prof. Emeritus Is-haq Oloyede, a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin and current Registrar of JAMB, as an exceptional leader who has positively represented the University through his excellent performance.
